“I don’t consider this risky. It almost isn’t risk capital, because we know there are so many companies born from INO technology spinoffs, which will make more spinoffs,” Québec City Mayor Régis Labeaume said on Thursday morning during a virtual press briefing.
According to him, “It will pay off, and marketable products will come out of it. In the medium and long terms, we will be winners. There’s no doubt about it.”
The Quebec government, for its part, is putting $375,000 over three years into this project whose total budget comes to nearly $5M.
