On April 22, 2021, Coractive, a leading developer and producer of optical fibre, announced it was digging even deeper roots in Quebec with a new 75,000 sq. ft. facility that would quintuple production capacity and create 30 local jobs. The project has financial backing from several partners including the Government of Québec, Investissement Québec, Desjardins Business – Québec-Portneuf, and Ville de Québec, all of which participated in the announcement.
But as Québec International knows all too well, the project did not take shape overnight. Discussions between QI and Coractive have been ongoing for more than a year. Coractive had a development idea in mind when it participated in an event run by the Québec International team that supports international subsidiaries. There, Coractive learned about financing programs for development projects in the region. Armed with this information and support from QI, the company moved forward with the plan.
Next came a series of meetings to discuss the project and identify specific needs. Québec International also quickly leveraged its vast network to put Coractive in touch with the right experts and financial partners. With this targeted support, the company was able to make the project happen.
“The Québec International team is proud to have acted quickly to support and guide Coractive in its expansion plans. Shepherding businesses through growth and development and helping them innovate, become more competitive, and create good jobs is our core mission.”
